My FFIL is an avid gardener...and it's rubbing off on my FI.  This past weekend my FIL's were in town and they did a number shopping for plants and trees.  FI's dad brought has about 4 trees and 6 plants from back home... and then we purchased another couple of bushes.  (Don't ask me for details because I don't know...lol)

Here are some pics of our new flower garden on the side of the house (FI did it all himself... I was inside cleaning and watching the season finale of Grey's Anatomy...OMG!) 

I don't have a before pic...but there was nothing there...so imagine that. :)

Oh my gosh!!! I'm so jealous!! The garden looks GREAT and Matt did a fantastic job!! I've been dying every time I pass the garden stores because I had to sell all my gardening pots. Not enough room in LA :( I will have to live vicariously through you m'dear!!

Ooh, it looks really great!! I love azaleas - those flowers are to die for every spring! I especially like the orange ones. I've never seen any that color down here. It's pretty much all pink and white where I live. The orange really pops against your house!

And let me just say I'm jealous of those FIL's! If you went and bought all that stuff from a garden store or nursery, you're talkin' $$$!!

He also added some more flowers to the back flower garden...not sure what they are though!  The pine trees will go at the back of the yard... eventually. 

Everything looks so cute! I love your patio area and all the plants are going to look awesome once they start to fill in. They should definitely add a feeling of privacy back there.

The little purple guy in the last pic - any idea what that is? Japanese maple maybe? It's so pretty!

@ Gatorbride, yes...I know that's a Japanese maple.  Not sure what the dark green ones are.  They only had stick labels that said what color they would be.  Purple and a pinkish one.
