Anyone else feel like there is so much stuff to have to consider and buy that they are really overwhelmed?  Everyone keeps asking me about bottles, diapers, bedding, etc and I"m just like, I dont know.  It's too much!  My friend was asking me about names, which grant it, we've known for forever our boy name is Blake (my maiden name) but middle we arent sure, and a girls name we havent really talked about and she's like, "omg you're so ocd I figured you'd have a book marked up by now" and it's like......no. haha  I know I need to start looking at stuff but it seems still so far away that I just keep avoiding it.

Ditto in being overwhelmed. I started the registry a few months back but was so overwhelmed that I haven't looked at it since. I do recommend the Baby Bargains book which helped me out w a few things. Maybe check it out.

I didn't start looking at stuff until I knew it was a boy or girl but I think you aren't finding out right?

Try and relax and don't stress!  When you are ready then start!  Baby stuff is not going anywhere hahaha.

As far as bottles - don't buy a lot of one kind, buy a couple of each brand - most popular are Dr. Browns, Avent, Playtex Dropins or Ventaire.  I bought about 5 different bottles and ended up using one brand (Playtex Ventaire).

The other stuff will fall into place :)

I'm starting to annoy my mother with my lack of ambition haha.  BUT it's also the holidays and more important stuff is happening right now, so I'm hoping that is part of it and that come February I'll be into baby shopping.  But it's just so scary, like what if I dont pick the right thing?  There are way to many options and different brands.  What if we dont buy the best kind?  Just talking about it stresses me out haha.

Keep in mind that majority of stuff (car seats, high chairs, strollers) all have to meet the same safety requirements so there is really not buying the wrong thing.

If you have a Buy Bub Baby anywhere near you I suggest going there!  The staff is SO super helpful and breaks down each item.  We switched car seats because of talking with the guy.  I hade the Graco Snugride on my list but he recommended the Chicco KeyFit 35 - he said they had the same safety ratings but the Graco is made with hallow plastic, the Chicco is not.  That is something I had no idea about!  And they are not commissioned so it's not like they are pushing "certain" items :)

I'm at 23 weeks today and I still haven't done anything. Both DH and I are feeling pretty overwhelmed/scared and ignoring what we have to to seems to be helping us get by. However, we can't do that forever. I have 2 weeks of school left. Once I'm done I'm going to have to force myself to get my act together!

It's TOTALLY overwhelming.  I haven't even looked at registry or any baby items yet, and I'm already overhwelmed just reading birthing books and baby care books.  I did buy the book Baby Bargains, and it's great, but soooo much info....it was almost nicer living in ignorance :)  I agree with PP that everything will fall into place.  I find a lot of solace talking to moms with more than one kid, because they have a more even perspective about everything, versus pregnant new-mom craziness, you know?  Not that we are crazy, but let's face it...all of these choices, options, and to-do lists can drive you to insanity when you feel fat, bloated, and sick!  LOL.

I remember my sister (who is normally the epitomy of confidence and grace) saying that making a baby registry was the most stressful thing she has ever done and it made her feel so inadequate.  She was so worried that she would make the wrong choices or not get something that she should have and she was so freaked out.  Needless to say, everything came out fine.  Her kids are now 7 and 5 and are bright, sweet, and super smart.  Try not to stress it too much :)
