I am having issues with MIL adding people to my guestlist and telling me how to run the wedding day.  Yesterday she called me to tell me I should have the first dance, then the dance with all the padrinos and then the dollar dance.

Is anyone else doing a Padrinos dance??? I think this is unnecessary and cutting from the party time... I dont want my guests to sit through all this stuff!!

HELP!!

You are absolutely right!!

However, this can be tricky.. I'm only having 3 padrinos (honor, lazo & arras) for church. When I had my quince, I did the padrinos dance but that is because I had padrinos hasta de calzones! lol jk. No, but I had more than 3 that's for sure.

I'm not doing a padrinos dance for my wedding because they are already participating in the church. But for my 15, I had padrinos that did not participate in church and therefor were acknowledged during the padrinos dance.

How many padrinos are you having????

This is a very hard tradition to break, I told my mom I didn't want to do a padrinos dance, she is oldskool and was bothered by the idea at first but then got over it.

I agree with you.  Padrino dance is more appropriate for the quinces, not for a wedding.. Dance with your padrinos during the dollar dance? :)

We are not going to have the padrinos dance. We won't have the dollar dance, but our First dance is a must!!! :)

FI and I are doing away with most of these traditions... (my parents are totally not loving this at all...) like you stated : I think this is unnecessary and cutting from the party time... I dont want my guests to sit through all this stuff!!

Just sit her and kindly tell her that you understand and appreciate all her help/input in the planning process but in the end it is your wedding (and FI's) and you and her son decide what will be included.
