so my fiance and I just got our marriage license today and we were just talking about who will be signing as our witnesses during the ceremony. I know normally the best man and the maid of honour are the ones to witness but we were wondering if we could have our dads as the witnesses. I just thought it was a nice idea since our moms will be lighting the unity candle, it'd be a nice idea for the dads to have something to do.

has any body done that? would it be weird for us to do it? legally speaking that can be done right?

what do you girls think? TIA

From what I understand, the only requirement for the witnesses is that they have to be 18 years or older, so it should be ok...but I would double check this with your officiant/priest.

Totally doing it! My mom is signing for me. According to our officiant there is no problem with it at all!!

We didn't have a bridal party, so our mom's signed :)
