Peridress.com ??? To Order or not to order?

Here's what I've noticed about Peridress... every time someone posts about them on a wedding forum (brides.com, PW, theknot  etc) all these random first and second time posters pop up and say "oooh I love my dress from them" ... seems fishy.

I wouldn't risk it.... unless you have the time and money to shop for another one if it doesn't work out...

Yes, the prices are amazing, i even considered getting a dress from there myself but then it was just eating away at me, "This is too good to be true".

I talked it over with my husband and he pointed out the fishy number it has like 13 digits.

Not to mention when it asks you to put in your credit card info its NOT A SECURE SERVER SITE.(Anyone can access your info, you can tell if it is secure by the the address bar. It will begin with HTTPS:// and have a little lock at the right end of the bar.)

Also when I went to the better business bureau, they had no information of the site.

I noticed all the "new members" as well Tomboy. Very odd.

Tomboy...I was just gonna say the same thing! 

"Hey let's make a whole bunch of new user names and say how good our stuff is!"

Too good to be true! pay for quality and expect quality. pay cheap, expect cheap.

I ordered my dress dress from Kristie Kelly's "Cinderella" collection from PeriDress. THe original was way out of my budget, and Sara Zhang quoted me at $200.00 with a $2 discount. I ordered it, and specified that I wanted a lace-up back and some other alterations from the original design.Sara said no problem and she would make sure to have these things mentioned to the tailor for me.

About 3 weeks after I ordered it, I asked for more tulle to be added to the skirt. She said it would be an additional $10; I said "no problem" and sent her the money via pay pal that day. I did not hear anything else and the dress arrived one week after that.

I opened it up, tried it on, and discovered that the back was not a lace-up, the length about 4 inches too short, and they did not even give me a loop or button for a bussle. I had asked about the length of the train, and she said it barely touched the ground; however, it was actually a chapel train.

I asked Sara for a partial refund because of about half a dozen of other things that were wrong. We emailed several times back and forth and she then cut off all communication very suddenly. She did not give me a refund. I am in the process of appealing to the company.

DO NOT ORDER FROM PERIDRESS.

I've been reading some of the reviews and I'am scared now. I ordered my dress about a week ago and I had a question regarding my order. When I sign up to find the status of my order is says it failed. I have been trying to get a hold of someone, sent several emails and till this day I have not received a response.

Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what to do at this point..

To Scadm5:  If you still haven't heard anything, I would call Paypal right away and cancel or freeze your charge.  You only have 45 to do so and they have Peridress on file with all their complaints!!  I decided to give them a chance and the dress I received was AWFUL...wrong color, wrong style, wrong material, and wrong size.  Peridress refused to give me a refund authorization and they will fight you to the end or just cut off all contact.  PLEASE try and cancel your order!! I was past the 45 day time period, but I made a dispute with Paypal and they told me to contact my bank or card company since they usually have longer time periods.  THANK GOD Wells Fargo is in the process of canceling my charge.  DO NOT USE PERIDRESS!!  I know its hard when you see the prices, but you can get cheap dresses at a lot of shops (David's Bridal) without going through some shady company in China.  ALL of you brides who were scammed, please try and contact your card company since some of them have a time period of a few months to dispute the charge!  And it helps to go through Paypal first to have that dispute on file as well.  GOOD LUCK

I have a dispute open because my credit card company told me to go through them first and then they would be able to help me. I am getting a bit paranoid about the whole thing.

I have just made the mistake of ordering from Peridress. 12 weeks after order, the dress has arrived and it is AWFUL!!  Does not fit anything like the Alfred Angelo original.  Custom size they really stuffed up and it is about 6 inches too short, lace work was OK but threads hanging off all over it.  I am too going through the whole trying to get a refund thing as they say they won't refund for custom made but then they state unless measurements are out by more than 3" which in this case they are.

Will lodge dispute with paypal and with Visa.  I now have a very stressful few weeks trying to find a dress "off the rack" in plus sizes with only 2 months to my wedding with no budget for an expensive dress as in Australia we get sooo ripped off with clothing prices - more than 50% higher cost than USA.

Communication is difficult to say the least with Peridress.... I should have read this forum first!
