Photographer Score!

Finally booked my photographer and videographer! I used to work for them last winter as a studio manager but had to leave for school; I never thought I could afford to hire them because I'd be looking somewhere around $5500-$6500 for the amount of photography that I want but  we went to see them anyway and I'm getting full day coverage for $1200 a peice, only $2400 total! Mind you I'm not ordering any prints or albums from them; I am a photographer tooso I all I want are the proofs + edits because both our companies print using the same labs so that means I don't have to pay a 200% mark up lol, and we're just getting the video footage from them and will be editing the wedding feature ourselves; by we I mean me and my film editor FSIL haha. I feel so awesome right now for getting such a big score! Originally FI wouldn't even discuss having a videographer because he figured it was just one extra cost so I challenged him saying that I would get both for less than the price of other photographers we were looking at and I did it! A big ol' told ya so lol

Yes, we totally scored too! But it was a little bit different for us. We happen to have two really close friends who one is a professional photographer, and the other is studying fashion photography in NYC right now (it blows me away how incredible she is). 

So one of our friends (who was a working photograher) got married a couple months before us, and my DH played music at her wedding in exchange for her photographing ours for FREE. 

The other one (NYC) did all day (10AM to 10PM) for only $625!! I love them both to death. My sneak peak pictures are fabulous - but I've had to wait extra long for the rest of them since one was free and the other is busy with school. =P

I know its worth it though!!

Awesome Mrs.Hodder!!! We scored a videographer and we were his first wedding! We payed $500 for everything he did for us. He said he learned a lot (what to do and what NOT to do!) So that's good, I do feel bad being nit picky about the video because of it though :) hehe.

We scored as well - found our photographer and after speaking with prev. clients he was a GO for $1300 all day coverage, 2 photogs and free engagement session. Videographer - we found through a friend. Only $700 for all day coverage and he even showed up with an extra camera man! So instead of 2 recorders there were 3!

Found photographer through a friend for 875.00. Major score was the DJ had a friend that he brought along with him who recorded our reception. THIS WAS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE DJ who was only 300! MAJOR, MAJOR, SCORE! One of my bridesmaids recommended him to me.
