I'm still a beginner myself, but I've learned so much on the internet that I'd like to share my favorite resources that got me started in the first place.  Everyone is welcome to contribute!  I'd love to know what you gals use to learn.

Kodak Learning Center - Really basic, and you don't need a fancy camera!

Koda self-teaching guide to Picture Taking - really basic, and it has exercises for you to follow

Shutter speed, aperture and ISO - enough said

ThePhotoForum - Other beginner ~ intermediate photography knowledge.  Forums are great as you can learn from others' photos and criticism. You can submit your photo for criticism to if you don't take negative comments personally.

photo.net forum - for intermediate ~ advanced photographers.  I love browsing here even though I'm far from advanced or professional level.  I learn so much from them! Every time I see a term that I'm not familiar with, I just google the term.  It's the most effective learning process for me.

Last but not lease - flickr! In addition to understanding photography concepts, and taking lots of photos, it's important that you train your eyes so you can quickly spot a good photo from a bad one.  If you are used to looking at good photos, it becomes a second nature for you to frame your subject without thinking. There are so many photography enthusiasts with their fantastic works.  I also bookmark tons of good photographers' blogs and websites and browse them on a weekly basis.

EDIT: additional links

Fred Miranda Forum -  Another great professional/enthusiasts forum.  I prefer this to photo.net nowadays.

Strobist - everything you need to know about lighting

Adobe TV, Lightroom - Video tutorials from Adobe itself regarding Lightroom.

Lightroom Killer Tips - Tips and free presets for Lightroom

I LOVE http://digital-photography-school.com/  That site has helped me SO much, I can't even tell you.

I also love http://shuttersisters.com/ not so much for technical help, but definitely for inspiration, and helping me grow as an artist...to see the world in a different light, through my lens. :)
