I'm back... & Married!!! aaaaah..... such a sigh of relief. I guess you guys are wanting a recap huh? ok, i'll do my best =)
Day 1 & 2:
We traveled 14 hours from Delaware to Florida. We greeted our guests with OOT bags and shared a few laughs and drinks. Rehearsal was Sunday (the day before). Everything went perfectly. We ran through twice and was on our way.
Day 3: THE BIG DAY!
Hubby and I wake up in the same bed... and I tell him it was time for him to roll out! lol. The weather was calling for storms, so I prayed and prayed that it would hold out. & that it did!
One of my bridesmaids who was rooming alone gave up her room and all the fellas headed to the 13th floor to get ready. I had to pick up another bridesmaid from her hotel which was a few blocks away, headed back to our room showered and waited on
the MUA. I began to get a little impatient, bc I was told 11a... when he arrived at 1130 everyone tried to switch up and tell me, 1130 was the actual time. Whatever, so long as he made it. lol.
So he starts throwing all this make up on my face (which I'm not use to). He's giving me the choice of this and that, I tell him as NATURAL as he can get and he goes from there. At first sight, i was mortified. I looked like a freak IMO, but
everyone kept talking about how beautiful it looked so I left it alone. The room is busy, we have makeup going and hair at the same time. The flowergirl was the first one done. I demanded the bridesmaids to get started so that by the time I was done,
they could assist me.
Everyone was dressed and ready to roll by 1p. Of course they all wanted to get a photosession going, so we did that for about 30 minutes, then headed out to the ceremony location.
When we got to the ceremony location, I was swept away by my photog who wanted to get a few shots in with myself and the girls before things got started. By this time the temp was around 90 & everyone was super hot & sweaty. The photog
does her thing. My MUA takes me into a private room to touch up my makeup and wipe off the shine and then I'm on my way to the aisle. Before heading down, the Reverend tells me that my Groom is extra emotional, I had no idea what I was about to
witness.
My saxophonist played the HELL out of my music selections. I felt like I was watching a movie.
Song #1 "The Wedding Song" Kenny G - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6Bk04qlsuY
was played as my bridal party walked the aisle. Mother's walked together, followed by the bridesmaides who walked alone. The Groom & Groomsmen waited at the front.
then came my song "Everytime I Close My Eyes" Babyface - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8KLq_29Uns
& my heart starts pounding... it was real! My brother (who escorted me) is in my ear talking about how he's going to use my pictures to get girls, so I'm laughing. When I reach the front of the aisle, I see my hubby IN TEARS! I mean
completely emotional & I am dry as a whistle. All I could think to do at this point was clean him up. lol. My nerves were shot, so my emotions were on pause. We go through the entire ceremony, exchange rings and are pronounced man and wife. We
then exit to our sendoff music
"We're In This Love Together" Al Jarreau (Send off) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01cSqCD8x0w
We take a gazillion more pictures, cut the cake, chamapagne toast and MORE PICTURES before departing to the reception around 3p. All i can say is, my photog was AMAZING!!! i can't wait to see the pics.
Once we got back to the hotel we sent everyone on their way to get cleaned up, since the temps were so rediculously hot. Dinner was served late (no thanks to the hotel) at 5p. I was soooo- pissed that they had everyone waitin so freaking long. I
thought they'd have everything set up by the time we got back... but NO! they were JUST setting up when we got there. In the end, it all turned out nice though. the food was good, & everyone had an amazing time. They couldnt stop raving about
my ipod music selection. I had nothing but love music going, mainly songs from our past. It set the mood perfectly. I truly couldnt have ask for a more blessed day.
