Hey Destination Brides,

Do most of you have an onsite planner for your wedding?

For our wedding in Jamaica, we do have an onsite planner and she has been fabulous with responding so far (even though i have a year.haha).

But are you guys flying someone in to coordinate the rehearsal dinner and wedding day as well?

Im thinking about it and wanted to know your opinion. I want to be stress freeeeeeeeee!!!!! :)

I had an onsite planner.  We were married on an all-inclusive resort where we and all our guest were staying too, so she did the coordination for the day of too.  We didn't do a rehearsal/dinner.

Yes!  I am getting married in Maui and we have a planner/coordinator, and I am so happy!  I don't want to have to worry about getting everyone there on time, or the cleanup.  She worries about everything, I just get to show up on our big day!  Totally worth it!

Our on site wedding coordinator helped us with all our events throughout the weekend.

I just signed up with destinationweddings.com ($50) and not only will I have a planner through them, I will also be provided with a coordinator on the island (whichever I end up choosing!) I plan on a welcome cocktail party or something similar and a rehearsal dinner. I expect my planner will take care of this. I haven't gotten the name yet since I just signed up but I'll let you know what all she/he is doing once I talk with them.

most destination wedding locations have an onsite planner. though we're also working with someone outside of the place we're having our wedding. so they could coordinate everyone's travel.

I'm having a wedding coordinator to liaise on my behalf with the location planner. She speaks the local language, and has already saved us money in terms of negotiating on better prices. Also, on the day, I don't really want to have to be fussed with anything, so am happy to have a coordinator lined up.

Before booking her, we made the trip over to meet with her, and to gather ideas of what we wanted to ensure she was onboard with it all.

now that i think about it - i totally would've had a planner to work out all the things for the day before and the day after. Me doing it all ended up me having a melt down saturday night - i was so EXHAUSTED from all the planning that i just burst out crying. all because i was the one who was scrambling to do things - like plan the ATV trip for everyone making sure people got there on time. the stuff to do on thursday, all the wedding stuff all day friday, then a snorkeling trip as well. exhausting!
