one thing i love, that i found AFTER my shower (grr!) is a diaper raffle. every willing participant brings a pack of diapers and gets as many raffle tickets as packs of diapers they bring. then you draw winners and they can win an assortment of
prizes (wine, gas gift cards, picture frame, etc.. whatever you want to make the prizes). im helping my bff do her shower and thats something "i had" to have on the invite haha.
word to the wise.. i was 8 1/2 months pregnant at my shower. i stressed sooo much that i was going to have the baby before i had my shower. mine started as a surprise so every weekend i thought "this is it!!" but it never was. eventually i threw
a fit and broke down sobbing to my mom and made her tell me the date just to ease my mind. so if you can have her shower not so close to her due date, you will all be happier! ;) later to find out, id have to be induced at 41 wks, and i really had
nothing to worry about bc my child was very content in there!
my shower was mostly pink too! with green and purple accents (i found a balloon i loved and told my mom to revolve the shower around that haha!!) it didnt really have an overwhelming theme, more of a color sceme. there was alot of tulle and
butterflies! my favors, which had NOTHING to do with anything, were fortune cookies whose fortunes said "roses are red, violets are blue, mya liane cant wait to meet you! kelly shower 1.15.11" they were a big hit, and not something that you haaaad to
keep. we ordered them online
some of the butterfly decorations are hanging in myas room still because i loved them so much!

ignore my face yelling for my mother haha, focus on the buterflies hanging from the ceiling!
another fun, yet disgustingly funny game we played was "identify the diaper" so there were 5 diapers, all with smashed candy bars in them to resemble poo, and you had to smell it to guess what kind of candy it was. who ever got the most correct
won a small prize. it was more for comic relief then anything else. even DH and my grandmothers played which was hysterical!
i had 40-50ish people there. it was chaotic, i was fat, hot, tired, and overwhelmed. i never got to eat, and barely had anything to drink. MAKE SURE you tell her to take a break and eat and drink! i wishhhh someone "saved" me from the
belly rubs to tell me to take a minute for myself.
