POLL: First NWR Splurge?!

Hiyaaaaa ladies!!  *waves*  I missed you guys like nutsos!!  

So, I happen to think that brides are superwomen with crazy planning and DIY'ing super powers and I think we're all entitled to pat ourselves on the back after all the wedding planning has come and gone!  lol

Okay, so for the marrieds, what was the first thing you treated yourself to after the wedding?  Your first post-wedding splurge for yourself?!  Shoes?  Full day at the spa?  A puppy?!

And for our lovely brides-to-be, any ideas for post-wedding treats for yourself?!  

It will be furnishing our place. I desperately want new living room furniture.

Our first after wedding splurge will be our trip to Chicago in December. We are soooo very excited! I only had one vacation this year, our honeymoon, and we had a couple to go along with us, so it wasn't just "us". After all the planning and spending all that money, feels good to have some "us" time away from work and Michigan! Looking forward to going to the aquarium and museum and eating like a pig! Lol.

Well, after the wedding, we moved into a bigger place (more$rent), bought DH's grandma's car (we are paying that monthly just with no interest), we bought a new tv stand, and coffee table. Next thing on the list...kitchen table! Ahhh, nothing else big for awhile even though now with some new furniture, I desperately want to buy new dressers for our rooms. Mine is white and DH's is brown, both hand me downs. But that's just life! lol

I didn't do anything crazy for myself. I like spending my money for "us things" like he does. :) For us, it was getting our first big flat screen TV! And also a living room set a and dining room set, with all black leather and black glass. That was the first time we bought our own furniture as we'd been living with hand-me-downs from friends for over a decade. We found super sales and scored bigtime. It totally changes the house and makes it very easy to stay in on weekends. :D

What was your first splurge after the wedding, Mica?

Our Honeymoon I suppose. We were saving for that in tandem with the wedding though we are just now going to actually go on the trip. I really want new furniture, we still have our miserable mismatched college stuff...DH did finally get me a new chair for our 1 year anni :) This next year has been declared the YEAR OF THE HOUSE, we have 3 rooms to renovate and once that is done we will get new furniture - that is what I'm saving for now that the wedding is done!

OUR HONEYMOON. What a splurge that was, hahaha. We got married and then drove across the country and moved! Moving, for us, meant buying EVERYTHING once we got here. Since we only brought with us what would fit in our car for the trip, we got all new everything when we got here.

No other splurging for us! Hahaha

Our biggest PWS was a brand new bed. We badly needed it! The only big purchases planned for the future is upgrading our phones, and an iPad. We are going to be planning our HM soon too! For now we've been just enjoying a low key married life and trying to save money!

It seems like we all have our old college hand me down furniture. hahaha. Oh what it will be like when we get new furniture! AH!
