At what age did you think you would get married: Well I always wanted to get married at 18 ...I never really thought of when I actually was. Lol

Reality: 21 years old.

Reality: 9 months!

Is your husband anything that you thought he'd be: Yes, everything that I thought and more! ;)

What did you imagine yourself doing (or go to college for): Opening my own day care.

Reality: Working at my parents business. (I love it)

If you own, Reality: don't own yet.

At what age did you think you would get married: 25, I thought I'd have at least one kid before 30.

Reality: I did get married at 26 but it was not the right marriage and a bad environment for kids! So now I'm 29 and getting married a second time! Hopefully I'll have two kids between 32 - 35. 

How long did you imagine yourself being engaged: 6 - 9 months MAX!

Reality: ~ 16 months from when we decided to get married and booked our venue, 10 months from when announced our engagement to people other than our family and closest friends

Is your husband anything that you thought he'd be: Well I thought I'd marry a cowboy!! He is very midwest, so very sweet, and "a man of few words" but he's also a super geeky, sometimes annoyingly entitled, and yet athletic engineer... and better than any man I could have dreamt up for myself.

Career

What did you imagine yourself doing (or go to college for): I thought I'd be a vet, then a nurse... but realized that I hate reading about boring stuff like history and writing meaningless papers and thats required for general ed. Can't you just skip to the fun stuff?

Reality: I'm an Executive Assistant for high tech companies... I prefer startups, transportation, and green tech.

Do you see yourself staying in that role/field/career direction: I LOVE MY JOB. I will probably continue to move around companies every 3 - 4 years though because I like startups and those get too big, fail, or stagnant.

At what age did you think you would get married: You know, I don't think I ever really had an idea of this growing up.

Is your husband anything that you thought he'd be: He is so much more than I ever thought I would find in a partner!

What did you imagine yourself doing (or go to college for): I was a theater major, I always dreamed of broadway!

Reality: I am housewifing it up in Ohio....definitely not what I bargained for.

Do you see yourself staying in that role/field/career direction: I truly have no idea what I want to do. I left an awful job about a year ago, and currently I sell Arbonne, which is great because I can make a little fun money and not go totally crazy at home haha

If you own, Reality: We own a condo, so it is definitely not our dream. But I will say, I love it for right now. We have 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bath. The kitchen is tiny, but I do have a really nice size dining room, and the bedrooms-with a walk in closet for ours- are a great size!

Do you see yourself staying in that role/field/career direction: love the roel/field but I need a different industry. I work in HVAC, plumbing and heating...boring!

If you own, Reality: Teenie tiny closets and what do you know, DH occupies the bedroom closet. Not sure how that worked out!

At what age did you think you would get married: 25

Reality: 24

How long did you imagine yourself being engaged: I never really thought about been engaged as a matter of fact, lol. But I guess that if I had give it a thought, I would have say 12 months.

Reality: 5 years!!!

Is your husband anything that you thought he'd be: When I was younger, I  wasn't the typical popular girl and I was pretty shy. So, I thought I would end up with an intellectual, shy and a bit nerdy type of guy. FI is the total opposite!! He wasn't the relationship kind of guy before we met, date a lot of girls, not nerdy at all, he is sportive and very athletic! I love him soooo much...he's perfect for me!

Career

What did you imagine yourself doing (or go to college for): At first I though about being a teacher (during primary school), then psychologist (highschool) & finally medicine (college).

Reality: I'm finishing my Ph.D in neuropsychology. A mix of my highschool and college dream, hehe!

Do you see yourself staying in that role/field/career direction: Sure! After spending 8 years in university, I hope it will last, ahah! And I love being a child neuropsychologist.  Moreover, with my university degree, I'll be able to teach if I want to some day. Best of these three worlds!

Whether you own or not, what are the three things you want in your dream home: Big kitchen (open area with cute cabs!), a porch, a big stair to go on the second floor with this amazing luminaire at the top of it.

If you own, Reality: We owned :). Actually, we got a brand new cottage 2 years ago so we made a lot of choices about how we wanted things to be. But, it was our first home and we were both student at the time so it's pretty simplistic. We love it even though it's not exactly this big dream house. So no big open kitchen, nor porch (not really common here in Qc), but we do have a stair with a beautiful luminaire in it :)! We're planning on moving and bulding a new house again in 5 years or so, and THEN, we will make sure to have our dream house!

If you own, Reality: We rent for now unitl we move out of the Bay Area to buy - so for now we are in a 1 bedroom unit in a triplex, with a 1 car garage, w/d, and tiny backyard. LOL

Reality: 23 the first time around and I never wanted to do it again and 38 this time!

Is your husband anything that you thought he'd be: He is everything I thought he would be and more! I couldn't have prayed for, dreamed up or wished for someone so suited for me! I find a new reason to love him every day!

Whether you own or not, what are the three things you want in your dream home: A jacuzzi room, a jacuzzi bath tub and a giant walk in closet that houses my shoes, clothing and has a seating area like Kimora's!

If you own, Reality: We do have a jacuzzi, but it is an older model and it doesn't heat up anymore. I want an upgraded version with a mini bar and flat screen on the wall! Just a regular tub. I want a jacuzzi tub so bad! My clothes are in three different closets throughout the house and so are my shoes.

How long did you imagine yourself being engaged: i figured id be engaged for a few years since thats what your "supposed to do"

Reality: 8 months!!

Is your husband anything that you thought he'd be: waaaay better!! i lucked out

What did you imagine yourself doing (or go to college for): being a celeb. makeup artist/hair stylist, being a teacher, owning a business, etc!

Reality: i am a hair stylist, but my real job now is a stay at home mom

Do you see yourself staying in that role/field/career direction: no! once my next baby turns 1, i am going back to work full time. and im going to do something completely different! dont ask me what though.

i have a simple list, that im sure we will get (we live in an apt now)
*window over the sink in the kitchen, with LOTS of counter space and an island
*a bay window somewhere
*a very large front yard

dont own. but this place is deffinatly giving me good inspiration on realistic things id want in a home... like a washer and dryer :/
