1. Carrie's Vivienne Westwood bridal gown?
2. Carrie's "bird" headpiece?
3. Red, black, and blue bridesmaids?
4. Carrie's blue Blahniks with the diamond detail?

I say - yay, nay, nay, and yay!

Also, not really a yay or nay question, but was anyone else thinking throughout the whole move - where the heck is she getting all the money to pay for all of these things? Not so much the penthouse or the wedding, which presumably Big was paying for, but buying back her apartment, hiring the assistant, the apartment remodel, and, of course, all the fabulous clothes, shoes, and handbags? I mean, I know it's always been part of the suspension of disbelief for the show, but, c'mon, really?

omg aching! i was just giong to post something about the movie since i just saw it last night. I agree with you yay, nay, yay (well char's dress only), and yay.

and i asume she got all the money for all the fab stuff since she had three books out and got an advance for her next book (i think she mentioned that in the movie).

But WOW on the movie! I haven't cried in a movie in a LOOOOOOOOONG time (i'd say about 5 years) but last night I cried (ok shed tears) about 4 times. Of course when he left her (I wanted to KILL him). Then when Miranda and Steve got back together on the Brooklyn bridge. I was sooo sad for Carrie I couldnt believe it. I was sooo upset also when she got back with him. But then I guess it goes along with the theme of the movie of "forgiveness". But man, I sooo wouldn't take back the man who left me at the altar! But yeah, the movie was really good in my opinion. Even my dear fiance got into it!

Haha good post! I say yay, yay, yay, and nay (wasn't a big fan of the shoes - they looked to me too similar to every other Manolo). That bird headpiece was crazy - but so interesting! I would never wear something like that, but love seeing those things on others who are more fabulous.

I almost cried but had to hold back because I was watching with my FMIL (weird - I know! Long story...) But it was at the part that Miranda was home alone eating Chinese on New Year's - soooo sad.

Haha love it, I know I've never met a wealthy published author with the exception of Candace Bushnell, but that's because of film not books!
The movies now are all about portraying a gorgeous non-reality, its out of control!

1. Carrie's Vivienne Westwood bridal gown? Nay (Just not my style, beautiful piece but I'm not really into the conical Madonna shape in the bust)
2. Carrie's "bird" headpiece? Nay (Yay for now, but you know you would regret it in 10 years)
3. Red, black, and blue bridesmaids? Yay actually! (If my friends were nearing their 50's I would want them to feel like women, not so much brides maidens because let's face it, they're not girlish anymore, but for the better you know?)
4. Carrie's blue Blahniks with the diamond detail? YAY YAY YAY

Actually, I loved everything because it was so her. I would never ever wear any of the clothes she wears but that's part of the charm for me. It's a huge suspension of disbelief that she could afford all the things she buys and the assistant but I know that going in, so it's ok. And I love, love, loved those blue shoes. GORGEOUS!! I wish I could wear heels.

And all of you were right, I laughed, I cried. I loved it!

yea, nay, yay, yay.

i loved the movie!!! but it was soo sad...

I agree with you all about it being sad - I found the scene where Big and Carrie meet on the street to be incredibly painful, much more wrenching than anything in the show. And maybe as a recent bride I'm biased, but I didn't like the way toward the end they were suggesting there was some kind of moral equivalency between Carrie getting carried away with wedding planning and Big leaving her at the altar. I'm sorry, but to me those two things are not even in the same universe!

I also loved it all because it was just so Carrie. She has her own style and that is something I love about her. I loved the movie and also cried. When Carrie finds out Big is not coming I really felt her pain and my FI also got into it. We were analyzing the movie all the way home.
