What is your ultimate goal as a photographer?  

Why?  

Are you already living that goal?

What brought you to photography, and ultimately your passion for it?

(ie, are you wanting to be a portrait or wedding photographer?  Sell art?  Just be really good at taking photos at family functions and parties?)

What is your ultimate goal as a photographer?  To enjoy what I do and have images that people can enjoy

Why?  I love the artistic vent I get, I have a need to create and creating images some one will cherish for a long time is an amazing feeling

Are you already living that goal? yes, i make money not too much for it to feel like a serious and stressful job but enought to enjoy extras that i may not be able to afford normally working

What brought you to photography, and ultimately your passion for it? it's a creative outlet, i just want to have something that i can work to create, try different things and always try to out do what i did last time

What is your ultimate goal as a photographer?  

Be able to capture the things I see in my head in all areas of photography: landscape, people, nature and candid street shots.  Be good enough to be recognized in flickr, as in people would want to follow me and comment on my work.

Are you already living that goal?

Not even close, but I am taking actions!

What brought you to photography, and ultimately your passion for it?

My husband has great camera and lenses, although he doesn't take photos as much as he used to anymore.  I started learning the mechanics when we were traveling.  I was fascinated with his 50mm f1.4 prime lens haha.  With it I tooks tons of good photos of food. I didn't really appreciate photography when I frist started, to be honest.  My impression of photography was boring, commercial, calendar-like landscape shots. I remember telling my DH, then boyfriend, that I much prefer looking at photos with people in it, photos that capture the subject's emotion; or landscape pictures that convey the photographer's awe and respect to the nature.  I told him without emotions, photos are only good for chamber of commerce calendars. 

Then when I started browsing wedding photographers' photos, most notably Anna Kuperberg's, I found my breath to be taken away by the stills beaming with life. I didn't know that many photographers are capable of capturing raw emotions through good lighting, composition, and a refreshing perspective.  That's the first time it dawned on me that I should be able to do it as well.  I started adding top-notch photographers to my google reader and browse them regularly, and followed by lurking on photography forums, searching for good photos on flickr, and reading articles online.

And here I am :)

What is your ultimate goal as a photographer?  

To someday turn my hobby into a career

Why:  Because Photography is more than a hobby to me.  It's a passion.

Are you already living that goal?

sadly, no.  Hopefully someday I will.  For now, I'm happy shooting anyone who will let me :-)

What brought you to photography, and ultimately your passion for it? 

I took graphic arts in Highschool which included B&W film photography.  That's what sparked my love for photography.

What is your ultimate goal as a photographer?  

To be able to express myself creatively and to capture memories beautifully.

Why?  

A picture is worth a thousand words and I want to be able to reflect on my life via beautiful imagery.

Are you already living that goal?

Not yet.  I'm still starting out and really haven't been able to invest too much time yet.

What brought you to photography, and ultimately your passion for it?

I think I picked it up from my dad, who was and still is a big photography person.  We did a lot of traveling when I was growing up and sometimes I felt like we traveled just so my dad can take pictures.  It's funny, but I find myself doing the same now...wanting to go to places just so I can play with my camera.

The wedding planning process also really inspired me to invest in a good camera and start taking quality pictures of my own.  Nothing like seeing beautiful artwork day in and day out to get one's creative juices flowing.

@bluegenes, I'm so happy to see you here!  Have you got any gear at all?

Thanks Rebecca!  I'm glad to be here. =)  I don't really have anything other than my D40 with the stock lens....still working on getting comfortable with it.  I'd really like a wide angle lens or a tripod though.  What about you?

What is your ultimate goal as a photographer?  to be able to document the most special moments in my life, from wedding planning, to friends and family, to kids, etc.  I want to have amazing pictures to look back on later in life.

Why?  why not?

Are you already living that goal?  absolutely.  I photograph everything i find beautiful, from flowers in bloom, to taking a girlfriend of mine and her husband up to the mountains to do a shoot together.

What brought you to photography, and ultimately your passion for it.  Im naturally inclined to be an artistic person - i learn languages quickly, i draw fairly well, i paint, decorate cakes, bake, dance ballet, play piano, take flower classes and work for a floral designer, learned calligraphy, work as a wedding planner and graphic designer...it just seemed like the naturally progression of my interests and hobbies. 

being around photography alot in the wedding industry, i see the good, the bad, and the ugly.  i want to make sure  my photographs stand out and stand alone - they shine as my work and no one elses.
