I hate flying and haven't done it while pregnant. I have taken some longish drives, and as long as we take plenty of rest stops so I can walk around and use the bathroom, it's fine.

MountainBride- I live in CT! I wonder if you will be close to where I am when you come!

We fly at least once a month to visit our families and I continued to fly from 9 weeks up until I was about 31 weeks. After that I chose to stop because it just wore me out each time. It was still perfectly safe for me to fly and most airlines will "let" you fly up until 37 weeks without a note from the doctor. Some airlines don't have a policy about it at all.

I just needed to remember to stay hydrated, get up and stretch my legs, stay hydrated and stay hydrated. :-)

I think you will be fine to fly long distance at that stage. We just spent the weekend in Paris (one and a half hour flight from here) and I am 21 weeks, was totally fine, I just had to pee more than usual!

I flew to Malaysia at 10 weeks and New York (from UK) at about 20 and had no problems except not being able to use mosquito repllant in Malaysia.

I did one flight to Mexico City when I was 25 weeks pregnant. The flight was a little under 4 weeks and when I got there I did drive for about 2 hours to my in-laws house. Everything went fine. I did stick to drinking bottled water and watched everything I ate.

I flew at 15 and 16 weeks and was fine.  My flight schedule was horrible so I found I was exhausted from the long days of travel, but other than that I was fine.  I tried to stay hydrated and had healthy snacks on hand, just to keep my energy up.

We traveled sometime in May and due date was 8/22, so I'm guessing it was about 28 weeks?

We flew and not only did we fly, we went to Bryce national park, at the elevation of 8K - 10K feet.  I've heard pregnant ladies being overly sensitive to elevation, but I was fine. The plane trip was fine.  I don't remember anything particularly unpleasant.

I wouldn't fly too late in the 3rd trimester though.  The bathroom trips will be a pain!

I flew to South Carolina from MI when I was 19 weeks for my best friends wedding.  I was absolutely fine.  However, I almost got sick right when I got on the plane because it was SUPER hot with no air flow, and I got nauseous easily if I didn't have air blowing on me 24/7 lol.

Oh thanks ladies for all your replies!!! DH and I have now decided, that we wait until my 1st tri-test, which will be April 18. If all is good, then we will take the holiday right away and just book something spontaneous and just do what we feel like. If the doc says I shoudl wait, then we will go in July.

Thanks again! *hugs*
