So, I've been taking the VitaFusion Gummy Prenatal (which are SUPER yummy - I love them!) I'm just wondering anyone else has taken any other prenatal that they've liked. I prefer the gummy, which is gentle on my stomach and aren't giant horse pills, but wondering what anyone else is taking, or any specific brand they like?

I really need to check out a gummy kind.  I bought a giant bottle of Rite Aid brand b/c my Dr. had no preference on what to take and Rite Aid is right around the corner.  They do tend to upset my stomach a little (and I'm not even pregnant so that can't be good)! For now, til they are gone, I am taking them at night beofre bed since they don't bother me enough that it keeps me up.  Just wanted to mention that option for people if they currently have one they hate but want to finish off.

I buy whatever the Walmart brand is.....giant horse pill, causes upset stomach. haha  BUT I just take them before bed and am usually asleep before they start bothering me too much.

Kristen, have you had any side effects from the gummy? I've been taking a normal gummy vitamin but I'm thinking of switching to a pre natal gummy.

I'm horrible at taking pills, especially the big ones. I picked up a jar of prenatal (I think they were the same brand Kristen is taking) and noticed that they do not include iron since children might take them. I ended up putting them back, but I think I'm going to go get them and just get an iron supplement to take with them.

*edit* I've been doing some research online and this vitamin only has approx 30% of the recomended DHA. So I'd have to take an iron and DHA suppliment.

@haleighb - no side effects from the gummy, I think that's why I love it :) It was odd adjusting at first (had slight tummy ache for a day or two) but now i"m totally fine!!

@milkgal - I didn't know that!! I think I'm going to wait until I go to my yearly lady appointment and see if they recommend something... I just hate swallowing big pills so any gummy I can take would help!

I'm also taking Nature Made like ashle1738, but I supplement with additional Calcium and Magnesium (per blood tests that show I need to).

I'm taking the Jamieson prenatals ... do you have that brand in the US?

My only caution with brands would be to compare the list of vitamins/minerals.  I also bought a huge thing at Costco (can't remember the brand) - it had the same list of ingredients as the Jamieson, but sometimes in smaller quantities.  I decided the extra cost was worth having the extras.

As for the pills making your stomaches feel upset, do they not recommend taking them with food?  If I take mine with food (breakfast, specifically) I feel fine.  One time I took the pill then someone walked into my office, and 5 minutes into the impromtu meeting I felt sick (like bile rising in my throat sick!) and couldn't wait for them to leave so I could eat!  A few bites into breakfast and my upset stomach subsided.

As for horse-size pills, I find after one or two they aren't a problem to swallow.
