I'm new here, and starting to DIY my invites. Where do you print your invites/RSVP/TY?  I'm in SF bay area.   Staples, OfficeDepot and Kinko quotes ~$2-$2.5 for color prints in an A-4 semi-thick white cardstock.

Seems like it's more expensive than ordering ready-invitations from the websites like theamericanwedding. Am I missing something?

Darn, I wish I could help but I'm in the Boston area - I just picked mine up today from a local print shop.  I got invitations, RSVP postcards (printed on both sides), and envelopes (and they also cut down for me!) for less than $240.

Hope you find a good deal!!!  :)

Wow, that's a lot!

We printed our's at Staples, double sided on heavy paper (cardstock) and it was like, .49? I think?  But, we're in Canada.  All I can say is that we were pleased with Staples' printing, and the time turnover (we went on a Saturday around 11am).

I printed my own. I bought a Brides invitation kit, downloaded the template from their website, totally changed the font, did a draft print on scrap paper and some adjustments... three drafts later I was ready to go!  The hardest bit is the setup. Once that is done, printing them all is relatively easy.

thank you ladies.  I don't have a good printer; in fact I don't have a color printer.  I am kinda giving up on printing them here.  I have asked 2 more vietnamese and 1 chinese print centers; still ~$2/sheet.

Yeah, I was surprised how expensive Kinkos was for color printing.

Consider asking friends and family if any of them have a decent color printer and are willing to do the printing if you pay for the ink.

Another option is to go to Fry's and buy a color printer. Print your invites and then return it. :-) I did that to print out a few final projects when I was in college.

Kinko's quoted me over $400 to just print and cut our invite, direction, reception card, and rsvp. I went right across the street to office max and got $120... for reals?!?! Sold!
