So, maybe its the stress of planning a wedding but my young vibrant skin is turning into crap! Like Jessica Simpson on the Proactive commercial I am getting under the skin breakouts. Has anyone used Proactive, or have any other suggestion to get my face in shape for the big day (78 days!!!!)

I did some research on Proactive, because I was interested in using it.  What I have read was that once you start using it, you cant really stop!  I read reviews that once you stop using Proactive, your skin breaks out even worse than before.  Reading that stopped me from even thinking about using it.

My FI has been using Proactive for a couple of months now, and we have both noticed a big difference in his skin - it is definitely clearer, and it makes his pores smaller.  In the almost 12 years I've known him, I've never seen his skin look so good!  Proactive probably works only for certain people, so I'm guessing it's kind of a crap shoot.

I agree with Eugogoly. The products used in Proactive are not very good products. Ive used it before. It worked ok. My best advice, coming from someone with problem skin, start facials with an esthetician (i.e., glycolic peels, pumpkins peels, etc.) and start using the Obagi acne line (Clenziderm steps 1 and 2) I SWEAR by Clenziderm it has cleared up my face so much! You can also buy the products for a bit cheaper than in a salon on skincarerx.com. I know they are a little pricey, but seriously they work.

I used Proactiv a few years ago and I had to stop because my skin was getting really itchy... not dry skin itchy, but rash itchy. And it really made my skin dry and wrinkles a lot more obvious. Which was very frustrating because I suffer from adult acne and I hoped that Proactiv would be the miracle product. I talked to my Dr and I guess my skin is very sensitive to being over-medicated. So, now I use St Ives Apricot Scrub every other day and a mild Oil of Olay cleanser every day. And my skin really likes it. I agree with JD that it seems to be a crap shoot with Proactiv.

If you don't want to commit to the Proactiv program or the expense, Costco sells a product that's a generic version of Proactiv, but for much cheaper. From what I've read, the ingredients are the same. You can see it here.

Good luck!

My old room mate used it and swore by it but it was too harsh for my skin.
