i don't understand what this means...

twist up curls from the front and pin them into the bun.

Jackie -

It looks like she took the bangs part, twisted it a little to keep the curls defined, and then brought it to the back and pinned the ends in with the messy bun. It is talking about the hair you see going from the front along the side of her head. HTH!

I don't get when they say the half bun, how much do you pull out of the band. The bit that's pulled out through band do you spread it out/make it softer looking?
