We never even considered having a traditional wedding either in my/his home town or where we live now. My sister did a destination wedding in the USVIs 10 years ago... which was a no-no at the time. Poor thing with through a lot of family drama and friends getting upset. Luckily for me it's much more of an accepted thing now. That being said, I won't get to have all my family and friends in one big place to celebrate.. but being in a place where FH and I are happiest makes it worth it. I haven't regretted it for one second.
