I am having a cookie bar for guests at the end of the night. It's a really cost-effective party gift.

Great article! We're making a small assortment of desserts to go along with our smaller cake, this will give us great idea. Thanks:)

We are skipping the cake and asking our friends and family to make us pies (I think we need about 30!). Neither FI or I like cake, so what's the point? I think we might through in some cookies as well! :)

We skipped the traditional cake, too.  We ordered 3 round cakes from a local baker- lemon poppyseed, marble, and carrot.  My mom made a Persian torte, mini cream puffs, Mexican wedding cakes (cookies), red velvet cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, melting moment cookies, and white chocolate covered oreos. We also had a big bowls of a few of our favorite candies- M&Ms, skittles, and gummy bears.

We're going to have a traditional cake and a dessert table with mini-desserts! I love them.

This article is the best I have read so far! The advice is feels like it's come from a professional and is also doable. It is pointed at various levels of expertise so anyone can try them out and the ideas, for example the tea infused creams, are novel and bang on trend. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us all. And keep your great ideas coming!

I love this Article  i am a do it your self person & we don't like cake very much so we are  forgoing the traditional wedding cake & making  dirt cake instead in 3 foot clear column vases with alternating layers of crushed up Oreo s  & a white cream layer with roses & lights cascading down the glass columns also using  roses for the topper my colors are black & white with red so its perfect .
