Thanks for the helpful tips! I've always wondered, however, when doing your own flowers, when is the best time to put together the arrangements? The day before the wedding? For how long can you expect the flowers to stay fresh, if cared for properly?

This is great!  I agree with Budget Bride....can you provide some information on when to buy the flowers, how to keep them fresh, etc?  Thank you!

My mother and my aunt both plant flower gardens every year. And, to help me save money have both decided that their flower gardens are going to be filled with flowers for my wedding. It is only going to cost the price of the packets of seeds!! Plus, because I will be using pumpkins, my mother is designating one part of her garden to pumpkins for me, small and large. I believe that Doug and I are going to be having a couple of pictures taken in front of my aunts garden, near the pond. But I havent really decided for sure yet. It wouldnt be a wedding photo, but more along the lines of an announcement photo for the newspaper. We are putting my bouquets together about 2 days before the wedding and then we are wrapping them and putting them in the refridgerators at my mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and aunts house. That way none of them get smashed from being on top of each other. Go on www.monkeysee.com and check out how to put together centerpeices and bouquets, and it will give you an idea of what you can do to make them look professional, without the professional cost!! Good luck girls!
