We're getting married May 28, 2011 (the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend) but it works out for us becuase we're getting married in a tourist town on Lake Michigan, it's absolutely the perfect place to celebrate Memorial Day...sun, sand and the beach!

any idea if there is a calendar that specifies when daylight savings time starts/ends in 2012?  I'm thinking of March 10, 2012.  Thx!

I myself am a big Lakers fan and don't want to get married during the NBA finals if they're playing (which they often do).  We are planing on 6/23/2012 and that's right around the end of the playoffs.  I can't find the schedule for the 2011 finals let alone the 2012 ones.  Anyone have any suggestions on how I find this out?

When I married my first husband we chose the Saturday before Easter because our family (which is huge and spread all over the US) would already be traveling into town for the holiday. We marketed as such and just encouraged everyone to come a couple of days early. It actually worked out best for us because we would have had trouble getting everyone together at any other time of the year.

@ Bebella, Memorial weekend 2011 is the sametime that we r planning to get married. I actually thought that this would be a great time of yr. It's not gonna be to hot or to cold down here in Atlanta. I also like the fact that our anniversary would always be on a long weekend..... Congratz and God bless.  =)

i really don't like rainy days but we have picked 30th of July, what do think?

My Fiancee and I actually chose April 1st. We're fun, kinda silly types and actually played a bit with the date. Our "save the dates" actually say "It's no joke! Teri and Matt are two fools in Love"

Plus it's a Friday in 2011 so we save with our venue and caterer. We're not really doing much more with the theme, but since our wedding will take place about 1 year after we officially started dating, we figure the "fools in love" thing would work out pretty well. Our close friends know we're perfect for each other, but I'm sure some people will think we're crazy!

None of that stuff matters.  As long as you love each other, the date doesn't matter.

We are getting married on September 11th. We look at it like this: It is the perfect day to celebrate new beginnings, love and life.  If we avoided every day that was associated with a tragedy, we would never get married.  Every day holds bad memories for someone.

well our wedding will land on memorial day weekend. should we still keep it?
