Good article, but I have to disagree on some level with the "saves money" argument. What I've found out in the process of planning a home wedding (though not my home), is that when you have to bring everything in (consider lighting and
rentals, in particular), it ups the expense considerably. I'm also renting a home for my location, so that's an added cost as well.
Another thing to consider - and I list this as a "con" - is that a home reception requires you to do an awful lot more yourself than would ordinarily be necessary at a "wedding venue". If you can afford to hire a wedding coordinator, that will
help, but be prepared to put in some serious elbow grease to create the wedding of your dreams.
