I 2nd this article!!! Jason and I just got back from our 8 day honeymoon in Playa Del Carmen! We stayed at the all-inclusive Royal Resort, which I would highly recommend if your staying in playa! All- inclusice is definitely the way to go too! Playa offers a lot of R&R, shopping, as well as adventure, a perfect combination if you want options! Great article PW!

My fiance and I spent 2 wonderful weeks in Mexico before we were engaged.  We did a mix of independent hotels and all-inclusive.  I disagree on the advice to stay all-inclusive.  When we weren't in the a.i., we ate amazing food, at great prices.  The places we stayed all had restaurants within walking distance, and we were able to pick amenities and tours we wanted, and weren't limited to the a.i. options.  When we were at the a.i. resort, the food wasn't as good, I especially noticed this with the pina coladas.  And my fiance's father got such bad food poisoning at the all-inclusive, that they had to call a doctor to his room.  He didn't eat or stay anywhere else but at the all-inclusive, so it was their fault for sure.  We ended up paying less for 2 weeks than our family/friends who only stayed a week at the all-inclusive.

But I would second going to Mexico!  It was beautiful, and will be hard for us to top that trip with our honeymoon.

Great article!!  My husband & I spent 8 days on our honeymoon in October at the all-inclusive Royal Resort Cancun.  It was amazing and we have already started planning our 1 year anniversary trip back there.  The resort was by far "5-star" and the staff treated you that way as well.  Getting in & out of Cancun was incredibly easy.  The car ride to the hotel wasn't 20 min.  There were 6 restaurants on site for the all-inclusive, coffee bar, etc.  it was perfect!  I was born & raised in Tampa and feel I am a good judge of beaches & great tropical weather...Mexico has some of the best beaches....So happy to see this article!!Great article My husband photo 1139514-1
