Invitations: What Will You Say?

The wording of your invitation sets the tone for the entire affair. So, what will your invitations say?

Mine is the standard "Together with their Parents"  ,  However,  I added a little quote on the bottom ,

I stole part of it from the "Today I marry my friend"  poem

Our theme is music so I wanted the invitation to tie into the theme so at the bottom of the invite it reads

"The Song I can't get out of my head"

"The One I Dream With, Laugh With, Love.

I think that we are putting:

Mr. and Mrs. (Brides parents).... blah blah blah.... to attend the marriage of their daughter Brittani R. and Edgar C. the son of (Groom's mom)

Because I don't want his mom to feel left out BUT my parents are paying for it....

We used the same as you, blingbride.. it has an elegant and classic feel to it, and that's what we were going for :)

Below is my initital, draft #1 (edited to omit personal details)... The quote is one DH, believes in and come to be something representative of us... from it derived, "He Is Her VISION  & She Is His FAITH"...  The requestor is representative of us marrying in front of GOD, with GOD, with our children, creating a family of unity.

Bling we are going to be doing the same thing as you except FH's parents' won't be mentioned which I know his mother will hate but since there are issues there we decided against it.

What if the brides parents are helping financially more than the grooms, but the bride and groom are also paying for more than 50% of it?

good question rouba! I'm wondering the same thing!

We did "Together with their parents"... even though we are paying for about 80% and one side is paying more etc... we just didn't feel it was fair to honour or not honour our parents based on their financial contribution... they don't love us any less... but one side is much more well off than the other!

Not to mention my side is a mess with divorce so we went with the option we did for that sake as well.

Ours starts out :

"A friendship that was shared by two

Has turned into a love so true"

Then its got mine and FI's info since we are hosting the wedding.  Kind of sugary, but it is true, we were friends first then fell in love :)
