new york was pretty easy.  we ended up getting married in new york at city hall the friday before and had the wedding in nj that saturday. 

for the license, you can fill out the application online, get a confirmation number and go to the city clerk's office to finish the process.

erica, they said that the line is super line and we should be there before 8:30...is this the case??  let me know what you think.  thanks :)

i would get there early to avoid the lines and don't go on friday.  friday is when everyone does the civil ceremony and the lines are super long.  we went for the license on wednesday around noon and it wasn't too bad.  we did have to wait a little bit, but not too long.
