PW Guide Article: Most Popular Cake Cutting Songs

We are using "Cut The Cake"  by the "average white band"  .... generic I know , but we had a hard time with this , we are cutting the cake before dinner while everyone is still paying attention , but the vibe will still be pretty mellow at this point , so we didn't want to jar everyone with loud thumping music before dinner.   This song makes us laugh because it actually kinda sounds like bad 70's "adult film" music ... so we went with it ... ha!

We are using Cut the Cake, too.  It's the best!

Cut the Cake is indeed a fun song, yet I have seldom used it at weddings for my clients.  It's still a great song to play. 

Most of my clients often choose "When I'm 64" by the Beatles.  I often follow it up with "Love and Marriage" by Frank Sinatra when when get to the part when the bride and groom feed each other.   

I'm curious to know whether the songs mentioned in this article were selected from an actual survey or were they picked out based on someone's opinion of songs they felt appropriate.   

Two songs from the above list that I would definitely recommend are "That's Amore" and "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)" by James Taylor

 

We are using Jill Scott's "It's Love" I love it because she talks about food and it has a great Go-Go beat to it!

We are also using "Cut the Cake!" I think it's perfect :)

I didn't even know that people picked songs for Cake Cutting.....It was hard enough finding songs for bouquet and garter tosss, now one more song I have to find.  You guys are killin' me ;-)

I was JUST thinking about this last night!

We used "Yummy Yummy Yummy I got Love in my Tummy" by Ohio Express.  I really wanted "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies, but this was one of the few things DH had a strong opinion about, so we went with it.

The only reason I even thought about a cake cutting song was b/c of PW!!  woo hoo!
