I love the idea of family bringing food. I have a very close family and I know they would be honored if I asked them to bring their favorite dish. Plus it would be wonderful to have the food I grew up with to share with my new In-Laws.

we are having a summer wedding and our reception is going to be 'summer themed' with margaritas, sangria and a mexican buffet with roasted veggies and chicken.

We are having an hors' doevres buffet! It's an 11-4 wedding and we are doing a relaxed dinner afterwards, so the hors' doevres buffet is perfect for us!

We are having an early wedding (11-3:30) therefore we are having a Brunch buffet for my 50 guest...yes, it's going to be a small intimate wedding celebration, mostly family and a few close friends.

We are having our reception in a country club. Country clubs have their own caterers and they just gave us food choices. Prices are ok and we don't have to find an outside caterer. That's good price and a peace of mind food wise. The menu choices are good and there are plenty of different hors' doevres to choose from that sound yummy. :)

I am getting married on a Sunday. So what I am going to do is have a luncheon before my wedding starts and ppl from my church and my fiancee's church will cook. After the ceremony, I will have a cake and punch reception.

i'm getting married on a sunday, which means even if you do a hall the rates will be much lower. i saved 5 dollars a person and got everything included... even alcohol! so friday and sunday weddings save a bunch right off the bat! also my cake design is very modern and simple... most bakers charge extra for doing fondant but since the design is so simple they won't have the labor hours they would on a more elaborate design.... that way you can negotiate that they don't charge you the extra cost and still get exactly what you want!
