I don't think this classifies as a "crash" diet. This is a much more healthy than I've seen most girls do before their wedding. You're just not taking in as many calories. You're still eating healthy and exercising. There are alot of really low calorie fruits and vegetables you can eat. Just because you aren't taking in as many calories on this diet as you usually would doesn't mean you're starving yourself. This is a much healthier option than doing that. I think its a great article.

What source is there to this article? I am not entirely sure the information contained in it is actually "factual".... more like generalizations. Your body has a natural metabolic rate....... but that is not based on the amount of calories consumed typically.

While the nutritional information in the article is not bad losing more than 2-3 pounds in this time frame is not realistic or healthy. One important thing it doesn't mention is sodium. Avoid sodium as much as you can in the last week and drink lots of water.

Actually, right now, being 10 days away from the wedding, I try as hard as I can NOT to lose (or gain) weight! I certainly want and need to lose a few pounds but the dress is fitted!!!

I think that if you are trying to eat healthy and exercise, you should keep doing just that.

I feel that trying to trim inches in 12 before the wedding might be a bit much. I'm like Aroma who mentioned not gaining or losing weight this soon to the wedding. I'm in the same boat. My dress was taken in twice (yay), but if I lose more, I don't have enough time to take it in again (especially because I'm traveling for this wedding).

I think this close to the wedding, a bride should try to be comfortable with herself the way she is, keep up eating healthy and exercising to a reasonable degree, and try to tell herself she is beautiful as she is. I feel that brides (well, women in general) obsess a little to much with losing weight and inches, rather than being healthy and just feeling good about themselves. Exercise your self-confidence.

Keep in mind that although it would be nice to be "skinnier" for your wedding gown, it is unhealthy for a woman to eat less than 1200 calories a day.  If a woman does so, she will end up gaining weight.

Ultimately, if you are not eating the right amount of calories per day, your body is going to start storing fat so that it will make sure that it has food in case you starve it again.

Actually 2 lbs lost per week is considered a healthy amount so if you only lost 2-3 lbs total in 12 days that would not be considered unhealthy at all.

As a person who gains weight while stressed, i've put on 10 pounds and my dress fits but is not comfortable and my wedding is in 11 days!  I'm doing a cleanse and eating veggies and protein and have lost 4 pounds...unfortunately for me I don't have the luxury of being able to sit back before the wedding and i've gotta focus on losing the extra pounds to be comfortable.
