PW Guide Article: Top 10 Father-Daughter Dance Songs

I have been searching for a while for a song for my father and I. I don't like a lot of the recommended songs in lists like this usually, because some of the songs have very lover-esque lines. I know no one will notice, but it bugs me that in the background someone is crooning about their lover, not daughter. However, a lot of these songs seem pretty good! Thanks!

My favorite love song is 'The Best Thing' by Relient K, but the original is too fast and the acoustic is too slow :( That would be for hubby and me.

My dad likes Vince Gill so I am going with "When Love Finds You" he doesnt know that yet :)

I want to do something that won't reduce me to a blubbering pile of crying bride, so I would like to do 'My Girl'.....but I may do the whole crying thing and go with 'My Little Girl' by Tim McGraw.

Me and my Dad have a really unique relationship ... we love each other but never say it, were not ones for hugs or affection of any kind but i'm a chip off the old block when it comes to sharing his sense of humor! it's definitely our trademark in the family and for that reason I have choosen the song "That's my Daughter in the Water" by Loudon Wainwright lll .... I've learned everything I know including the good, bad, and the ugly from my Dad!!! just as the song goes.... "I lost everytime I fought her, I lost everytime" no matter what I will always have the one up on my Dad :)

I'm doing "In my daughter's eyes" by martina mcbride... I weep when I think about us dancing to it, so it HAS to be the right one. lol

Also, I'm surprised I don't see Butterfly Kisses on this list.

We're using Edwin McCain's "Walk With You."  I'm going to be a blubbering mess. Haha.

If you like country, my FSIL used this song: "Cleaning His Gun" It was really appropriate, and very sweet.
