Got a good one for ya! My sister was really laid back for her wedding-she told all the bride's maids to wear whatever shoes we want.  well....her sister-in-law to be decided to wear her black knee higt army boots under her ballgown stlye bridesmaid dress!! She actually said to me "I am so glad she let us wear what we want, I am so comfortable!Needless to say, we had to limit the photos and continuously hide her feet!!!!!!!

Today, my fiancé and I just witnessed a wedding on the beach. As the bride and groom were giving their vows, a middleaged beach guest in speedos stood right in the middle, across the ceremony, and stared at them. As this was happening an anorexic-looking runner in neon colored clothes came running across like Olive Oil on LSD. You would have thought that was the end of it, but an overweight hairy man in speedos joined and starred as well. I've never seen so many weirdos in speedos on the beach before. It was a beautiful wedding and I don't think the bride and groom noticed the onlookers, but boy will they be shocked to see their wedding photos!

I am worried about surpise guests I am already over my limit for inviting family and friends. The women who plans the wedding at the reception hall suggested writting up a guest list of all attendents who rsvp'd and and having some one be a hostes so that any extras who did not rsvp or people who did rsvp don't show up with 5 other people that no one knew about. I think it's a good idea and I am going to definatly do it.

Here is what I wrote to limit the surprised guests and let people know how many we have planned for:

We really hope you can celebrate our Wedding Weekend with us.

I've worn my knee high boots as a bridesmaid before and it was not a problem.  I cleared it with my friend (the bride) and she loved it so much all the girls wore black boots.  Plue with a ballgown how would you see the boots anyway?  I always have my dresses just brush the floor.

Now I am the bride and I will be wearing my knee high boots again.  This time with blue ribbon laces.   I'm considering it the best photo-op!   :-D

:-P  Everyone's tastes are different.

The worst wedding disaster I witnessed was last March at a hotel wedding. That day, a horrible storm hit the area, causing our 45 minute drive to be over three hours. To make things worse, there was flooding and the electricity was out in the entire hotel. When we got arrived, we were given two glow sticks and pointed in the direction of the stairs. We had to hike up seven flights of stairs in the near-dark. We managed to find our room (other close family had arrived the night before and we were just using their room to change) and get changed in the dark. There were hundreds of people for the two weddings miling around the lobby waiting. Eventually, the hotel used a generator to get the ceremony going. It was pitch black with two lamps on either side of the altar, and there was a dj who played the music as the wedding party and the bride walked down the aisle.  During the ceremony one of the tables holding the lamp collapsed.

The cocktail hour was set up with one small room per wedding, with stations out in the hallway. We had to blindly search for the stations, and everyone was running into each other. The reception started in the dark except for tons of candle light and the same lamps. The food was disgusting. To make matters worse, the toilets in the lobby by the wedding flushed only electronically, so it smelled like a port-a-potty in there, and the sinks didn't work either. Halfway during the reception, the power came back.

The thank you card said "Love lights the way. Thank you for being our light and sharing our day." Truly a wedding horror story.

a family member of mine attended a wedding that will forever be in his mind. The wedding was wonderful and just as the reception was getting started the groom asked everyone to flip over their chairs for a surprise for his new bride.. Under the chair, a pic of the bride "with" the best man. He let everyone know there was NO way he was spending the rest of his life with Her. I know it sounds bad but i would of loved to see her face and anyone who has been cheated on can understand that joy.
