PW Guide Article: Unique Vows and Readings

I think a combination of unique vows and traditional vows makes a wonderful ceremony. My Fiance and I plan to write our own vows, then read the traditional vows afterwards and exchange rings. I would say our wedding is a mix of some traditional elements and unique modern elements as well. 

We are writing our own vows because we feel there is nothing personal in repeating what the officiant says. I wrote a poem for him that when read aloud in a non-poem like way, no one would ever know its a poem unless they saw the structure of it on paper. Its not a sappy peom, it really is a vow-poem.

We're doing hand ceremony and rose ceremony for the rents. I hope they appreciate it!

We are using covenant vows.  I have searched and searched online. We are going to use bits and pieces from all that I found and some stuff we threw in on our own.

I've looked at examples but ultimately want to write them myself. 

We get married in about a month and we have not done this part yet, but we do know that we are planning to do a reading and personalize our vows, however, because we are having a private civil ceremony we plan to share our vows with our guests at our intimate wedding dinner reception. Writing comes easily for the both of us so we just need to get to it! lol
