Excellent article!  Wow I am so impressed with all the attention to details!  I wish I had thought of the stationary idea for my bridesmaids.  My husband and I just got married this month.  We kept our expenses under $5,000.  We had our ceremony in our back yard.  My theme was black and white to keep it simple on everyone's budget.  Like this article, our biggest expenses were the vendors, but we only paid the photographer $500 (he gave us a special since we let him feature us on his website....yeeehaaa!), but the costs did add up when we hired a DJ and a dance floor for the back yard, also the tables, chairs & linens.  But all in all, we had a wonderful shared event with our family and friends for under $5,000.  We couldn't ever expect a more beautiful wedding than ours in the backyard, surrounded with family and friends!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm trying to do a $3,000 wedding and all of your tips are SO helpful! I felt so alone in planning a budget wedding with all of my friends' parents lavishing them with 5-figure weddings; I'm so thankful to know that other girls are out there doing this with me! :)

This is AMAZING!!! I love, love, love how it's all broken down. I have a $5000 budget and I just realized that all the specifically wedding venues are absolutely out of the question..I was heart broken, lol. But this makes me feel so much better!! Now I know I can make my own unique wedding and not break my bank.

Your article was great! Could you tell me which website you ordered your dress from?

Just a word of advice, please don't rely on the discount candle/crafts sites like candles4less, save-on-crafts, etc. I'm not saying they don't work, but the shipping charge is where they get you!

I made an account with project wedding just so I could thank you for your post! I've always said I would never be the girl that spends a fortune on one day. When my parents told me about our $5k budget, I was thrilled.... That is until and I started to go to work, and quickly became discouraged by the cost of EVERY little thing. You have refurbished my hope and given me insite to things I never would have thought of! Thank you!!!!

This is so ironic! I am lookin to rent a spot on the Sacandaga for a wedding!! You have a terrific plan in place. Any chance your friend would rent to me?? Marybetheaton@yahoo.com
