What if your wedding planner keeps telling you for the past 7 months since you signed the contract with her one year prior to your wedding date that there is plenty of time and ask you (the couple) what your timeline is?  And then she avoids all communication with you and runs off with your deposit?

I'd say you were dooped. If she's under contract you can always sue her for breach of that contract in order to get that deposit back. Good luck.

yeah....who CAN you trust these days....you want something done....do it yourself.....i say.

I love to plan it was an easy choice for me. We did it all ourselves and had a great time!

Hiring a planner was the best and easiest decision we 've made! Other than choosing my dress and my sight she has handled everything, i explained to her what i wanted and expected for our wedding ,gave her the budget and that was that she handles everything and talks to everyone(bridesmaids)keeps us within budget and we have the final stamp of approval .She is charging us $2000(10%)of our budget, which is worth every penny to me because me and my fiance get to stay focused on each other !

I hired a planner and I interviewed over 20! Like mrsnasir my planner charged 10% of my budget (10k) She is AWESOME! She has made experiance thus far great.
