I have been planning everything myself as well. I can't say that I'm having fun doing it, but I'm not stressed out either. I looked at it much like shopping - which I don't like; I wanted to get everything done early so that I
wouldn't stress for the entire 9 months; 20 days left and I'm at ease with everything. I secured all of the vendors in the first 3 months and didn't have much to do after that; that actually irritated my bridesmaids who felt that they had nothing to
do. With nothing much left for me to do, I worked on the honeymoon arrangements, the reception dinner and the after wedding party. I also didn't want to worry about paying my vendors on the day of the wedding, so I waited until this
past week and paid off everything. The only thing left to do is to take this holiday weekend to do a thorough spring cleaning of the house to get ready for the family coming in from out of country. I have a binder with all of the details
sorted out by categories: Rehearsal, Venue/Catering, Music, Beauty, Photography, Flowers, Transportation, Honeymoon (oh, and Vegas in 2 wks). Making a list of what you need to do is helpful and updating it as you secure those tasks you
complete. Also, having a clear spreadsheet of your vendors, costs, deposits and amounts owed is also helpful to keep you within your budget and allow you to budget for what you still need to pay. Tip: Groupon, Living Social,
Bloomspot, Craigslist are great ways to find deals with vendors, hotels, destinations, makeup, etc. I've saved enough money and found some great deals so that I am able to provide hairstyling and makeup for the ladies in our families as well as
close friends on the wedding day - my thank you gift to my guests for coming. Last - if anything doesn't go perfectly, your guests won't know as they don't pay much attention to what is going on behind the scenes. Remember to relax and
enjoy yourself on your day. It will all work out.
