Ok...my FI is shooting for a pilot slot in the Air National Guard...He took the AFOQT and got pretty good scores (I have no idea how to interpret them, though) and he'll be going in as an officer. 

My question is...if he goes in as an officer, what is he? O-1...O-2? 

Excuse my ignorance....I googled this but I can't make heads or tails of anything.

An O-1, the lowest of the officer ranks, is a second lieutenant.

It's according to what he signed as his contract but he may start at the bottom  0-1  Second LT.
