So I just got back from my second transvaginal u/s to check follicle growth and started to wonder about the gel they use.  Um...I doubt it's sperm friendly so when we BD tonight, won't that be counterproductive??  Anyone know if it's harmful to sperm?

Side note - the follicle on my right ovary right didn't grow much beyond last week and is at 13 mm.  So that one won't release.  But the left has two follicles, one at 22 mm and one at 19 or 20 mm...woo hoo!  I got my positive OPK yesterday at 6:00 so hopefully it will happen soon!! :)

I found this link... It sounds like it depends on what they use.  I would think if you were going to an RE for these things, they would be using something that was safe.  Maybe call them and ask?

I'm not seeing an RE yet...our consult is next week.  This was just at the ob/gyn's office so who knows what they used.  It was the same woman that did my last one who told me to BD the three days after ovulation so even if I called her, I don't know if I'd trust what she told me... :(

I think I keep getting you and Bean mixed up!! :)  Sorry about that, dear!  Oh yeah, that is weird that she told you to wait 3 days?!?  Wishing you lots of luck this cycle!  Try to BD for the next few days just in case! :)

My OB used something similar to Preseed...she said it was sperm friendly....

Yeah, great question.  I would do Kegel exercises right after your appointments to get that junk out of you as fast as possible!!  Also I would call your OBGYN and ask what it is called, then look it up yourself since I'm sure it would be hard to get a reliable answer from that woman.  Would think typically GYN offices don't use it b/c it's probably more expensive... but I have know idea!  Sorry I responded a bit late!  Hope this stuff didn't interfere!!!
