took on a warm, soft glow, including Jody’s bouquet of orange ranunculus and wheat-colored feathers. The stems were wrapped in a soft, golden ribbon. The outdoor ceremony took place on the French House lawn. Burnt-orange flower petals lined the aisle between rows of mahogany chiavari chairs. The escort cards were printed with a photo of Jody and Brian in Chicago and set into mini polymer-clay slices of pizza! There are two mantels in the
French House, so Jody and Brian’s florist made them stand out with sheaves of wheat and roses, candles, and ampersands. Jody found the square wooden
planters for her centerpieces at IKEA and stained them to match the reception’s mahogany chairs. Low, conversation-friendly pieces were key, so her florist filled the planters with mounds of terra-cotta roses, wheat, and green... In addition to wedding cake, dessert included anything on the candy bar, which featured 10 types of candy, plus homemade treats made by the couple’s moms.
