Are any of you ladies having a reception at home for the guests who couldn't come/you couldn't invite?

Are you wearing your wedding dress to it? I love the idea of wearing my dress twice, I just don't know if it would look silly.

We're having a big open house type reception where I definately will NOT be wearing my dress.  But that's cause it's going to be really country

Ain't doing the reception at my home but in a house I rented with plenty of room for everyone to dance and have a good time.

Yep!! We are having about 130 ppl at a local country club. We are going to party! I still don't know if I will wear my dress again though. But I don't think it's silly at all. Your guests would love it.

I don't think it's silly.

I am having a reception at our Dunn Center and I am looking for a reception dress to wear. It's been tough so far!

We had planned to have a reception at home but most of our guest list came to our DW so we scrapped the idea. I had planned to wear my dress again.  I wish we could have one.  It would be fun to plan another party.  We had also discussed doing a vow renewal and party for about a year after the actual wedding for the family members that weren't there the first time, again, scrapped.  I would have worn a different, less formal dress for that.

my sister had a wedding in the bahamas and she threw an at home reception -- it actually was pretty fun wearing the bridesmaid dress again and she got to wear her dress again. I have no idea if we'll do that. we're waiting and see how many people come.plus the thing is most of our guests are from all over, we don't have guests from one place.

Yes we are doing an at home reception a month after our wedding and i am def wearing my dress again... most of my family isn't making it to the wedding so this will be a way for them to experience it somewhat. We are also planning on saving some of the fun traditions for the AHR too like cutting the case, throwing the bouquet and the garter toss etc. This will be a way to include those close who couldnt be with us ... Definitly NOT silly to wear the dress again!
