Reception dilemma

We found a reception site that we love, but the problem is they only have a few dates next summer. Which date do you think is better? Or do you think we should keep looking?

June 28 (Saturday) - the room we want is not available but there is a smaller room that is 30 people less than our guestlist.

July 6 (Sunday) - the room we want is available, but is this a bad day to have a wedding since it is so close to July 4th, which is on a Friday? Also, I'm concerned that people might not come because they have to work on Monday.

If I had to choose between these two and you are really set on your guest list, then I would go with option 2. You get the room you want and the people that you want there. If you're concerned about it being on a Sunday, maybe you could have it at lunchtime? It is a little troublesome that it's on July 4, but is that a big traveling holiday?

July 6 - but allow for traffic and crowds!
