You could cut just a little bit sooner- but its really not a big deal for the staff. Remember they do this stuff all the time! Thats what helps me let go. Also cake is a signal the wedding is coming to an end shortly- too early may not be a good idea- you know???

Also are you doing the bouquet/ garter toss, special dances, etc. Make sure those are in your timeline (or about when) b/c when every things put together it will all make more sense and take up more time...

Remember you don't have to do anything 'traditional', the guidelines are to help you get things figured out. For example were not doing the typical 1 hour cocktail slot, etc. Do whats best for the sequence of your wedding. Or you could always ask your caterer/ event place THEIR typical time line at that location since every wedding location has such different rules/ times. HTH!
