I think you can definitely do it. Actually, since the art gallery will only set 54 people, you could have some higher tables and make it more of a cocktail reception with appetizers. That way, your guests can mingle with each other. Not everyone needs to sit down.

Having outside vendors will be huge for you- especially if you are considering having alcohol. You should go to warehouse stores like Costco or Sam's or buy at BevMo, since they all you to return unopened bottles.

Also, for flowers- also check out Costco. They have some pretty affordable floral packages.

Good luck!!

Choose a time that is not "meal time" if you do not plan to serve a meal...either buffet or plated....

My cousin got married at the Orlando Science Center. I don't know how much it cost but the roof top held 100 people easily for a buffet dinner and I'm willing to bet their budget wasn't much different than yours. They had their ceremony by the lake on the grounds. It was all beautiful!

10k for 100 people is actually a great budget to work with.  Stations sound amazing.  In fact, I love stations and cocktail style receptions because they encourage mingling and more socializing.  You can definitely do a lot in your budget.  Perhaps cupcakes instead of a cake.  I think that's a bit less expensive.

Thank you for all the feedback and ideas!

Memphis_bride: I was curious about the Science Center. Now that you mentioned it I am definitely going to scedule a tour.

Jocemae: that's exactly what I was thinking. I want everyone up and mingling.

Lisalamb: great tips... I expecially liked the alcohol and flowers @ Costco

Missyhett: I would love a destination wedding, like Vegas. But we are worried about guest being unable to pay for the flight. How was it?

Jackieg: what times are best?

you can totallllllyyyyyyyyy pull that off! we're having 130ish people with a $4000 budget! we are however, having a buffet rather then a sit down dinner, and the reception will start at 1pm, so that helped cut our cost alot! but the things id do with $10k...

i am DIYing alot!!! our centerpeices cost me a total of $95 to make 30 of them! our favors cost a total of $60ish, and i am only making 100 favors, for two reasons: 1. i realllllly hope not all 130 ppl will show up! and 2. not everyone will take one anyway! like i said before, we arent doing a sit down, so the favors dont have to be at the tables. our DJ is a family friend who is charging us $50/hr, our photog is my MOH's friend, who is charging us a mere $500!! and our reception venue is actually a bar owned by one of my friends, so he is renting it out to us for $2k and providing the food and open bar! i am a hairstylist, so makeup and hair are being covered by my girls, and one of the stylists at my old salon is also a cake baker, so he is making us a wedding cake as our gift! i totalllllyy lucked out, and some how know someone in every costly corner of wedding planning! but even if we didnt know all of these people, i would have talked down every vendor as low as theyd go! everyone is willing to negotiate. before my friend offered to rent us his bar, we checked out a few hotels whose prices were out of our budget and once we told them what we were looking to spend, they were magically $700 cheaper then the origional quote we got. we are also doing silk flower bouquets for the girls, and the GM will get real flowers, but the florist i go to is only $10/bout. so thats a whopping $50. i also bought out FG dress at macys, its stunning, and i went on a sale day with an extra coupon and got it for $11! it was orig. $70! iv bought almost everything else online, and always google cupon codes before i check out. you wouldnt believeeee how many online cupons there are. i literly have not paid full price for a single thing yet! you can totally pull this off, it will just take some time and research, and dont settle! sry for the novel :) :)
