I love this quote! Amidst all the crazy wedding planning, it actually helps me keep focused on the most important thing: I'm marrying my best friend!!!
This is actually something my Aunt wrote and included in our ceremony I re~read this often to keep my perspective in the right place:
Every decision that is made is made to the benefit of the other. There is respect and honor shown in all situations. You are nicer to your spouse then you are to anyone else, & when you fight, which you will, you fight fair. You do not store up emotional ammunition for your next fight. You forget the wrongs because you love your spouse so much that it is not worth the time to remember them. You are your spouses biggest cheerleader. Your home is a place of peace ~ a haven from the weary world, you choose to love even when there is nothing lovely to love.
Coming from a amazing woman who just celebrated her 40th wedding anniversary in December I really don't think I could come up with anything better then these beautiful words!
Uhlease - That is so true. We get so caught up in the details that we sometimes forget that it's exactly just that - a detail.
Amanda - "Your home is a place of peace ~ a haven from the weary world, you choose to love even when there is nothing lovely to love." I LOVE this. A LOT. And what beautiful advice coming from someone special who
has 40 years of marriage to draw from.
