Response Cards

Okay, so I'm probably overthinking this, but - when you send out your invitations, do you put the response cards inside their envelopes or in front of (under the envelope flap)? And do they go in front of the invitation or behind? I can't remember what's been done for the invitations I have received - which I suppose is a sign that it really doesn't matter! I'd like to know if there's a protocol though...

I'm not sure if there's a protocol, but I put the response cards outside and next to the response envelopes. Hope that helps!

All the wedding invitations I've received (and they have grown this year especially) - the response cards were outside their envelopes, and they were in front of the envelope.

I agree with the PP's.

One helpful hint that I heard is to number your guest list and discretely write the numbers (if even on the back) of the response cards to make it easier to track when you start getting them returned. This is especially helpful when guests may forget to write their names on the response cards.
