RSVP's

I need to hear about everybody's RSVP situations.

My wedding is June 12th.  My RSVP deadline is May 15th (this coming Saturday).  According to my guestlist I invited 172 people.  So far we have 43 Yes's, 7 No's, and 122 have not yet responded.

I'm really getting nervous.  I know our outdoor chapel will hold 100 people, but I'm not sure how many more we can creatively add in without crowding the space too much.

And I based our food budget on an estimate of about 100 adults attending, and I'm afraid we're going to blow way past that.  I mean, if we do, we do, and we'll just have to order more food.  But I totally thought we would get a lot of No's.  And maybe we will once the deadline has passed and we start calling around, we'll have more people saying they can't make it.  But right now our ratio of Yes's to No's is pretty high.

I guess I need to just be happy that I'm feeling the love, right?

P.S.  Does anybody else have such a ridiculously high number of non-responses a week before their deadline???  Just wondered.  =)

Ummm yes!!!  Ok I have one more week than you to get mine back... but still...  We sent out over 300 invites (so 600 some people).  So far I have recieved 208 YES's and 48 No's.  That's not even HALF the people.  Plus my venue supposedly only holds 400 ppl so I am praying for some more No's.  haha

When are you gonna start calling people??

Probably Monday.  Saturday is our deadline, and I have a bridal shower that day with his family, so I can get some verbals at least that day from them.  Then Sunday my church is having a shower for me, but I didn't really invite the people who will be there, so I will just add on anybody who seems to be planning to be there for the wedding (there won't be many people at the shower, so it won't affect the guest count much).

Then I figure Monday I'll start calling, emailing, and Facebooking everybody that hasn't responded yet.

OMG I am soooooo fed up with the RSVPs. My response date was April 15 and I've had to call about 20 people already - 30 I still don't know about at all. I'm paying per chair, and I'm getting to the point where I'm just going to pick a number and if extra people show up they're SOL for not responding on the cards and pre-stamped envelopes I so generously provided! Don't these people know what postages costs?

Our RSVP date is May 15th too.  We had our shower last weekend and I asked a few people about other family members and got a lot of "I think they are coming"  or "I don't think I'm bringing a date."  People - I need definite decisions!!

AHHHHHH!!! This has been the most annoying part for me also!! I sent out invites to 320 and as of today I have responses fro 106!! The deadline is next week so i had mom start calling some people to make sure they got the invite and what their deal was. All of them were fully aware of the deadline and responded like "We have another week. Whats the hurry?". Are you kidding? If you know your coming, why not respond NOW? Why are you waiting till the last minute? People are just redic!

ps...our issue isn't if our venue will hold enough people, Its if we have enough money to pay for everyone who is coming. I sure hope its no more than 250...

ME ME ME!!!

We have like 60-80 people coming??  Or that HAVE responded... But we invited a total of 190!

Ummm....

WHERE ARE YOU!?  We made it easy for you didn't we??  Mark an answer, mail it in the PRE STAMPED and PRE ADDRESSED envelope...?

Sigh..

Our deadline is May 19th and then FI will start calling! ;)

i literally threatened ppl on facebook.  i think it was "all you ppl BETTER send back these tiny little cards after i just spent HOW long making them!!!"

and it worked =)  there's only a few i haven't gotten back.

our deadline was May 1st (early, i know!  but that's PLENTY of time...especially when they've known my date for freakin 8 months)  and there's about 4 or 5 stragglers I still need to hunt down!

I spit on RSVP's. I cannot for the life of me understand how hard it is to return something within a months time that already has a self addressed stamped envelope.  How much EFFORT does that really take.  Anybody that hasn't RSVP'd for our wedding is a**ed out.  Sorry but I've got 6 million other things to worry about than incosiderate would be guests.  They can show up they just may end up hungry and without a place to sit.  Not my problem.

Oreomaximus, I am totally with you. I've received two wedding invitations since I sent mine out, and I responded to both within 2-3 days. I can't shell out all kinds of extra money on people who may or may not be around to enjoy it.
