Okay, I am piggyback ridding on my previous post about white upper cabinets and dark lower cabinets.

I've been seeing an awful lot of this whole "Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformation" thingy going around. Seems like DIYers are going crazy over it. Quick, Easy and Cheap is their motto. And they all seem to love the results.

I think I would totally use this brand to paint the upper cabinets white but I am a little iffy on using them for my bottom cabinets. I am going for the rustic stain look. To me, the rustoleum looks a bit "painted" especially in the darker colors. I would hate to cover up the wood grain and grooves. I love that so much.

See, I love the white Rust-Oleum... looks pretty! :)

But this is where you ladies come in... what do you think about the darker color? Does it look "painted" to you too?

Not sure if the darker color of Rust-Oleum should be the route that I take for the bottom cabinets. Here is the look that I am trying to achieve for the bottoms.

Have any of you ladies had experience with the Rust-Oleum Cabinet kit? Do you like it? Can you still see the wood grain (in person rather than the above photos)? Do you think there is a technique to make it look like the last two photos I posted?

For the ladies that haven't used this product... what do you think? Should I go with it?

Hmmmm I'm not sure.  I probably shouldn't weigh in since I have never seen the results in person but honestly I don't think the product will give you this look.Okay I am piggyback photo 3422517-5

Which I think is beautiful by the way and I would go for this type of look as well.  I would just be leary of what kind of results the Rust-Oleum would produce.  I think your best bet would be to do at least the bottom portion the old fashioned way.  I think you will be much happier with the outcome since I agree that the others look painted.

Good luck!
