Second Thoughts...

I may be getting little greedy at this point. I'm happy to go with a picnic, but now I'm having second thoughts about where at the park we're going to have everything. I want the gazebo for the ceremony, but now I'm debating on the pavillions or renting tents and chairs and tables... here are some pictures of the venue:

one of the pavillions

I may be getting photo 1134691-3
where the DJ will be set up and dancing would take place right in front of the bandshell.

**Thought #2 - aka, me being greedy**

-looking out from the gazebo... all this grassy area was going to be used for parking and junk (behind where chairs will be placed for the ceremony, of course).

We would need 3 of these:

would be able to put 8 tables in each that makes 24 altogether.

would need a separate tent for the caterer to set up and serve food from, and also for the drinks/bar area.

would need a smaller tent for the DJ to set up plus:

I may be getting photo 1134691-7 a big dance floor

plus 400 chairs (200 for ceremony, 200 for reception) **just going by our estimate of 200 guests

plus the 24 tables

just a rough estimate from a rental place near our venue - $3480.20

I don't know if our venue would give us a discount if we're only using that area - they should. but I know that it's not going to even out.

What would you do??

if your going for the camp/family/rustic look leave it as is.

If you want drama and glamour then rent tents

if money wasn't an issue, I'd have all the glam in the world... I don't know... oh poop.

i think you could really play off of a rustic theme with things the way they are now...

maybe you can get some fabric and drape it along the posts of the pavillion to give it a more glamorous feel?? Or drape it on the inside on the ceiling?

Bright fabric, paper lanterns, and vibrant linens transformed the marina’s picnic-style pavilion into a cheery party space.

that's actually a really cute picture. only problem is that there's picnic tables... not chairs like in this picture. sigh. I might take that material idea though.

You could still make it looks really cute even with picnic tables! I am going for the rustic theme. You can still get table cloths and centerpieces. I love the idea of hanging fabric and some lanterns. I think that would look amazing for your space. Let me see if I can find more pictures!
