One year I did turkey pot pies they were ahit...one year I did skirt steak with chimmy sauce and chipotle potatoes also a hit but what I have found is that people want holiday stuff stick with the Holiday menu but serve it up different scallop potatoe or sweet savory mash potatoes. Grill the veggies with your favorite herbs. or sautee them in wine. Make chicken or ham instead of turkey.

Try some Sweet Potato Creme Brulee...Green Beans with Honey Mustard Glaze... or maybe even a good glaze for the turkey...  =o)

I make a Maple Cranberry Glaze:

3 tablespoons of butter

1 bag of cranberries

1/2 cup of maple syrup

3/4 cup cranberry juice

2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar

3/4 cup apple cider

1/4 cup brown sugar

about 1 teaspoon salt

about 1 teaspoon of black pepper

Combine everything into a small saucepan over medium-high heat and bring a boil and then reduce the heat to a medium low. Then let the cranberries burst (about 10 minutes) and then strain the mix and serve with turkey.

It is YUMMY!

This is seriously the best stuffing ever...I don't like stuffing and I ate a ton of it last year...It was voted #1 stuffing by Rachel Ray in 2006 and I second that!

1. Preheat the oven to 350º. In a medium bowl, pour 2 cups boiling water over the cranberries and let soak for 30 minutes; do not drain.
2. Add the butter to a large skillet and melt over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic and celery and cook, stirring occasionally, until translucent, about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.
3. In a large bowl, combine the stuffing mixes with the parsley, pecans, onion mixture and the cranberries with their soaking liquid. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs with the broth and pour the liquid over the stuffing, mixing until thoroughly combined.
4. Spoon the stuffing into 2 buttered 3-quart casserole dishes and bake, covered, for 40 minutes.
