One of my favorite things about yoga is that the practice happening on your mat is the only practice that matters. I can modify based on what my body is telling me during that practice and it doesn't matter at all what the woman on the side of me, or the man in front of me is doing. This is MY practice!

So what are your recent yoga accomplishments. No accomplishment is too big or too small! It could be even just making it to class during your super busy week!

Love this Nik - any accomplishment in yoga is a huge one.  :)  I REALLY hope the rest of our yoga brides join in on this one - I mean it!!  Let's celebrate eachother!

I think the biggest thing I've done so far is finish a 30-day yoga challenge.  The first time was really challenging.  Classes started at 6:30 am and ended at 7:45 am every day for 30 days.  I'm sooooo not a morning person, so the biggest challenge was yanking myself out of bed every day for 30 consecutive days.  It felt pretty darn good after though and anyone who finished the challenge earned a 1-month unlimited classes pass at our yoga studio.  Great motivation.  ;)

Wow that is a huge deal Mica! Morning anything makes me gumpy. Huge motivation by getting one month of free classes. I would totally sacrifice my morning!

I was so impressed by arm balances when I started my practice. However I have itty-bitty arms and no upper body strength so I didn't think I would ever accomplish much in that area.

Turns out I was wrong. I've recently nailed a pretty good looking Eka Pada Koundinyasana. DH was totally impressed when I came home to show him this one after I nailed in in class one day!

Wow that is a photo 3282453-1

No thats not me but I'm going to get DH to take a pic of me on day!

Nikki!!!  Any arm poses are a huge accomplishment!  I'm sooooo freakin' proud of you!!! Pictures!  Pictures!  :D

And yeah, the 30-day challenge was the haaaaaardest the first time, mostly because I'm like you and totally anti-morning!  10 am is still kind of early for me, so getting up for a 6:30am class was my biggest challenge.  It was great though and there were definitely some great moments and breakthroughs for me physically, emotionally and spiritually!  I seriously recommend it for anyone who's mildly interested!  :)
